//LAUS Test 11142022// In March, unemployment rates were lower in 37 states and stable in 13 states and the District of Columbia. Nonfarm payroll employment increased in 10 states and was essentially unchanged in 40 states and the District.

//METRO TestRCM 3/15/23// Jobless rates were lower in September than a year earlier in 386 of the 389 metropolitan areas, higher in 2, and unchanged in 1. Nonfarm payroll employment was up in 90 metropolitan areas over the year and essentially unchanged.

In September 2019, Ames, Iowa, and Charleston-North Charleston, South Carolina, had the lowest unemployment rates among U.S. metropolitan areas, 1.5 percent each. Four other metropolitan areas in South Carolina and one other area in Iowa had unemployment rates below 2.0 percent. read more »
