The Metropolitan Area Employment and Unemployment data for January 2025 are scheduled to be released on March 21, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Time.

In September 2019, Ames, Iowa, and Charleston-North Charleston, South Carolina, had the lowest unemployment rates among U.S. metropolitan areas, 1.5 percent each. Four other metropolitan areas in South Carolina and one other area in Iowa had unemployment rates below 2.0 percent. read more »
