Private industry compensation costs average $36.23 per hour worked in December 2020


Wage and salary costs for private industry workers averaged $25.48 per hour worked and benefit costs averaged $10.74 in December 2020. Supplemental pay costs were $1.25 per hour, accounting for 3.5 percent of total compensation costs.
