Employment up 5.9 percent in Charleston and Dallas metro areas, December 2021 to December 2022

From December 2021 to December 2022, nonfarm payroll employment increased in 81 metropolitan areas and was essentially unchanged in 308 areas. The largest over-the-year percentage gains in employment occurred in Charleston-North Charleston, South Carolina, and Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, Texas (+5.9 percent each), followed by Atlantic City-Hammonton, New Jersey (+5.8 percent). Five other metropolitan areas also had over-the-year employment increases of at least 5.0 percent. Full Text »
