Apprenticeships are available for more than 850 occupations. Construction and manufacturing apprenticeships are most common, but apprenticeships are available for all sorts of jobs.
Among the commonly apprenticed occupations, jobs in food, repair, health, and protective service join carpenters and electricians at the top of the list of jobs with the most expected job openings through 2010.
Other possibilities for apprenticeship range from telecommunications and environmental protection to childcare and the arts.
