Compensation costs for civilian workers increased 2.6 percent for the 12-month period ending March 2015. The increase in compensation costs for the 12 months ending March 2014 was 1.8 percent. Wages and salaries increased 2.6 percent over the 12 months ending March 2015; benefits costs increased 2.7 percent. Both figures were larger than those for the 12 months ending in March 2014.

Compensation cost increases for the 12-month period ending March 2015 ranged from 2.3 percent for natural resources, construction, and maintenance occupations and service occupations to 3.4 percent for sales and office occupations.
Among the major industry groups, compensation cost increases for the year ending March 2015 ranged from 1.8 percent in construction to 6.1 percent for information.
