Twenty-eight states had statistically significant over-the-year increases in nonfarm payroll employment for the year ended in June 2019. The largest percentage gain occurred in Nevada (+3.3 percent), followed by Arizona (+2.8 percent), Utah (+2.7 percent), and Washington (+2.7 percent).

South Dakota, Florida, Texas, Idaho, and Wyoming also had employment increases of at least 2.0 percent from June 2018 to June 2019.
In terms of the number of employees, the largest 12-month job gains occurred in Texas (+315,600, or +2.5 percent), California (+296,100, or +1.7 percent), and Florida (+218,800, or +2.5 percent).
