Americans love the thrill of a good race, whether their preference leans towards cars, horses, or another type of race. In 2018, privately owned racetracks employed over 30,000 people across the United States. Florida (5,957) and California (2,414) employed the most people, followed by New York (1,925), Kentucky (1,925), Texas (1,720), Minnesota (1,442), Illinois (1,191), and New Jersey (1,020).
